Portland Wedding Photography: David + Sandy at Kruger's Farm on Sauvie Island
Often times the trickiest part of my job as a wedding photographer is not taking photos, but managing the needs and expectations and schedules of the different people involved. Sometimes the bride wants hours of photos with her groom, who would rather be doing literally anything other than having his photo taken. Sometimes the mother of the bride wants endless different groupings of family photos while the freshly-married couple would rather be at the cocktail hour celebrating with their friends. Sometimes the happy couple wants photos in the gorgeous golden sunset that is happening outside, but toasts are taking an hour longer than anyone expected them to. And on it goes. Getting the photos while keeping everyone happy can seem highly improbable at times, and happiness is one of the keys to getting those truly special photos.
This is why it's such a treat to work with clients like David and Sandy. They told me in no uncertain terms that they wanted to do whatever I needed to get great photos from their wedding, and they weren't exaggerating. All day long, whether I was suggesting we hike over here, climb that thing over there, escape for the sunset, or gather by the fire to make s'mores, they were game for it all - and so HAPPY! And we have so many beautiful photos to show for it! Add to that their lovely and easygoing family and friends, the beautiful scenery at the farm, and the gorgeous weather, and I have to say, this wedding is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I hope you two love the photos as much as I do!
Congratulations on a beautiful day, David + Sandy!
