Another beautiful wedding to share! Liz and Jaron got married on a lovely, very sunny June day at McMenamin’s Edgefield. You could really see all the love and thought Liz put into planning their big day, from the customized neon signs at the reception, to individual Sola Wood Flower corsages and boutonnieres for EVERY SINGLE GUEST in attendance! She even made her own wedding bouquet and got Jaron tiny, vintage Colt 45 cufflinks (and they were ADORABLE). I love it when there are so many fun, thoughtful details that really tell the story of the day. . .

What a gorgeous wedding! This amazing couple and their friends and family really knew how to have a great party - the music, the dancing, the Old Fashioneds, the sharp wardrobes. Such a photographer's delight. Add to that the beautiful, heartfelt ceremony and it really was a perfect wedding day. I'm so glad to be the one to capture it!

I couldn’t have been more delighted to spend Sarah and Becca’s big day with them. These two lovely ladies met in elementary school, so it was fitting that they should tie the knot at McMenamins Kennedy School, a converted elementary school in NE Portland, Oregon. After a beautiful wedding ceremony in the courtyard (during which – I admit it – I joined in on some of the happy tears), the celebration in the school gym was lively and fun, filled with laughter, love, beautiful people and beautiful things. As a side note, this was only my second time photographing a gay wedding (and my first here in Portland) but I hope to photograph many more in the years to come!

Meagan and Cody are from the Seattle area, but decided to make Portland, Oregon their “destination wedding” – and I’m so glad they did!  They got married in a beautiful ceremony at McMenamins Edgefield’s Blackberry Meadow and followed with a lovely and fun reception at Blackberry Hall.  I think my favorite part was when we stole away during dinner to take some photos with just the happy couple in the Edgefield vineyards during the last, golden light of the day (though the amazing, colorful Voodoo Doughnuts display was pretty awesome – and a very Portland touch!).

I love a good church wedding ceremony – the stained glass windows, the great architecture, the substantial amount of time they typically afford me to take photos.  They’re even better when the officiant knows the couple really well and the whole thing feels really sweet and personal, as it did with Rebecca and Karl’s wedding at Gresham United Methodist Church.  Followed by a lovely reception at McMenamin’s Edgefield Administrator’s House and Yard, it was a day filled with laughter, family, friends, and the good kind of tears.  And dancing!  So much dancing, compliments of DJ Chad Dowling and the energetic wedding revelers.
