Another gorgeous wedding in the books! I always love shooting at Zenith Vineyard in Salem, Oregon, and this was a particularly beautiful day. After some initial rain, the landscape just glowed, so our golden-hour walk after the ceremony with the happy couple and the bridal party was just really glorious. Add in some really beautiful and well-thought-out fall details by florist Kathy Sohler, a pile of really adorable kids (a "herd of flowerchildren," as the bride called them, ranging from 9 months to 14 years!), and an adorable bridal party and family, and it really was a fantastic wedding celebration. . .

I mean... I just don't even know what to say about this wedding. It was just crazy, crazy beautiful from start to finish. One of those days where I just count my lucky stars that I have this job and I get to work with these amazing people. Morgan and Casey and their families were amazing, Whitney and her team from Soiree were amazing, Maysara and all the vendors were amazing, my second shooter Ally was amazing. Everything from the details to the big picture was just... perfect.

Willakenzie Estate Tour + Tasting

Willakenzie Estate Tour + Tasting

For those of you who may be wondering if I ever do anything other than photograph weddings: behold: proof that I’m a real Oregonian! It’s true, I’m not the biggest fan of beer or coffee (heresy here in Portland!), but I love a beautiful, drippy day and some tasty Pinot Noir in Oregon’s gorgeous wine country. I recently had the chance to visit Willakenzie Estate in the beautiful Willamette Valley with some of the lovely staff from Andina Restaurant. We were treated to a picturesque and educational tour by Mike, the vineyard manager, and a phenomenal tasting with Thibeaud, the winemaker, including a chance to taste from the barrels of as-yet-to-be-bottled vintages. It was fascinating to see the care they put into their vineyards and their wines, and to learn about some of the art and science behind how the wine comes together. And I picked up some delicious wines to enjoy over the upcoming holiday season! Big win. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Willakenzie!
