Another gorgeous wedding in the books! I always love shooting at Zenith Vineyard in Salem, Oregon, and this was a particularly beautiful day. After some initial rain, the landscape just glowed, so our golden-hour walk after the ceremony with the happy couple and the bridal party was just really glorious. Add in some really beautiful and well-thought-out fall details by florist Kathy Sohler, a pile of really adorable kids (a "herd of flowerchildren," as the bride called them, ranging from 9 months to 14 years!), and an adorable bridal party and family, and it really was a fantastic wedding celebration. . .
I mean... I just don't even know what to say about this wedding. It was just crazy, crazy beautiful from start to finish. One of those days where I just count my lucky stars that I have this job and I get to work with these amazing people. Morgan and Casey and their families were amazing, Whitney and her team from Soiree were amazing, Maysara and all the vendors were amazing, my second shooter Ally was amazing. Everything from the details to the big picture was just... perfect.
Ashley and Donny had big plans for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony, but Oregon had other ideas - there was lots and lots of rain on this lovely wedding day. This amazing couple decided to roll with the punches, though, and had a gorgeous wedding celebration nonetheless. The ceremony and reception were both held inside Perryhill Farm's very cool, rustic, 130-year-old old barn, with lots of friends and family and food and dancing and happy, happy tears. . .
Anna was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed quite a few years ago now, and I was delighted to hear from her again last year when she called me to be her wedding photographer. We met in the middle of last winter's Snowpocalypse to take some very cold (but very beautiful) engagement photos at La Tourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, and I knew this was going to be a fun wedding. . .
It was such a pleasure to be a part of Jim and Rob's wedding celebration on the EcoTrust Roof in Portland, Oregon. These two have been together a long time, and even made it official a little while ago, but decided to have a party to celebrate with their friends and family. Following a touching ceremony, they treated friends to beautiful food and wine from Chefstable, super fun Fortunetellers, my Selfie Station - a lovely time was had by all. . .
I've been looking forward to this wedding all summer long - Laura was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed quite a few years ago now, and she was getting married on Whidbey Island, a spot where I had the pleasure of photographing a friend's wedding a few summers back. There was a lot of smoke coming down from forest fires in Canada, so the usual beautiful weather was replaced with some fog and haze, and an amazing orange sun and bright pink moon - not exactly what Laura had planned for, but really beautiful in its own right. . .
Some days, you work with a bride with the timeless beauty of a 1950's movie star, and you get to the gorgeous wedding venue to find out she's wearing a stunning tiered lace wedding gown, and her handsome fiancé and both of their lovely families are incredibly easy-going and fun, and all of their flowers and signs and details are picture-perfect, and everything goes off without a hitch. As a wedding photographer, those are really good days. . .
I love a big New York family on a wedding day - it reminds me of home. So I had an absolute blast photographing Bethany and Parker's beautiful Rock Creek Country Club wedding with their big families and lovely friends. I had been looking forward to their wedding ever since their gorgeous Cathedral Park engagement session last fall, and they were just as cute as I remembered them.
