Jenny and Charlie’s Edgefield Wedding was such fun! I always enjoy seeing how a wedding day comes together with the help of friends and family, and this day came together with a lot of laughter and good spirits. Not to mention a literal ton of flowers. So many flowers! . . .
I photographed this engagement session the evening before leaving on a three week, three-country, two-continent trip. Katie and Eric don’t live in Portland, so this was our one shot to get together for some photos before their September wedding. I’m so glad we were able to make it work because I absolutely love the photos we made together. . .
It was such a delight to be a part of Danielle + Chase’s wedding! I love this couple, I love the Silcox Hut, I love photographing in the snow, I love all the thoughtful details, I love the sword arch at the end of the ceremony, I love the delicious food up at the hut… it was just the best.
Special shout out to the groom’s mother, Candy, who had a hand in so many of these beautiful details, from the bride’s gorgeous sweater, which she knitted with her mother, to the ribbons and runners and wrap made from the family tartan, to managing to track down one of 80 limited-edition Friends of Timberline Collector’s Pendelton Blankets for beautiful photos in the snow. It’s amazing to see the obvious love and care that goes into a wedding like this one. . .
I had such an amazing afternoon with these two for a windy but beautiful engagement session at Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon Coast. I’ve always loved this spot, with its gorgeous rock formations and stunning views from the top of the dunes, and I was so excited when John and Paulina suggested it for their engagement photos. There’s no better way to spend a sunset on the Pacific Ocean. . .
If you’re familiar at all with the Pacific Northwest, you know there’s nothing quite like a sunny summer day in Portland, Oregon. It’s so green and beautiful here, and Portland brides and grooms have a hard time resisting a sunny summer Saturday for their wedding date. In my previous post, I showed some of my favorite indoor/outdoor Portland venues, so today I’m going to stay in Portland, but show off some of the beautiful outdoor spaces right here in the city. . .
I often have couples ask me for advice about vendors and venues, so I thought I would start posting some favorites, along with some favorite photos of each. I’m going to start here in Portland, Oregon, since that’s where I live, and my first set will focus on wedding venues that are right here in the city. These venues all have indoor spaces, which make them great for all seasons, and most have beautiful outdoor options to take advantage of any sunshine you might be lucky enough to get on your wedding day. . .
This couple met at Lewis and Clark College, so the lovely gardens there were a great choice for this adorable family session. I had such fun with them and their giggly little girls, and I couldn’t get enough of the adorable cowboy boots.
When I was discussing locations for their family session with these adorable folks, the idea of the coast came up, and the boys apparently chanted “BEACH! BEACH! BEACH! until the decision was final. Which was perfect, because everyone was so happy to be on the Oregon coast! (It’s truly one of my favorite places to be - I could stand and stare at the Pacific Ocean for hours.) We had so much fun during this session. And the finished products - big, lovely bamboo mounted art for the living room wall - was truly stunning. . .
