Intimate, Elegant, Rainy Spring Wedding Photography - Chelsea + Audrey at the Columbia River Gorge Hotel
Chelsea and Audrey chose the Columbia River Gorge Hotel for their intimate wedding both for its beautiful setting and for its sense of Old Hollywood glamour. I had never been there before, so I arrived a little early to check out our photography options, and I was thrilled - despite the rainy weather. The dogwood trees and cherry blossoms in full bloom created a riot of pink throughout the property, adding a stunning foreground to the already beautiful views of the Columbia River. We had already discussed that this intrepid couple wanted to have their ceremony outside, rain or shine, and I love a little rain in photos. It gives everything such a lovely, romantic glow. After a first look and some family photos near the fireplace in the hotel lounge, we set out armed with some clear bubble umbrellas for some misty wedding portraits, and then had their intimate ceremony overlooking the river. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.
Many thanks to the very accommodating staff at the Columbia River Gorge Hotel, especially for taking us up to the roof after dinner. There was no sunset to be had on this particular evening, but the beautiful view and a quiet moment for the couple were totally worth it. And thanks, of course, to Chelsea and Audrey and their lovely families for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
