Spring is finally here in Portland, Oregon! That means, of course, that I get to schedule and then reschedule engagement sessions due to the rain. This lovely couple only had to reschedule once, though, and we had an absolutely beautiful afternoon in Forest Park’s Hoyt Arboretum, so I’d call this a big win. It was so great to finally meet them in person, and I can’t wait for their wedding this summer!
I’m delighted to share another beautiful, tiny Portland wedding - this time on the Redwood Observation Deck in Forest Park. 2021 has been a great year for lovers of very intimate weddings - I love ceremonies that include all of the wedding guests and just feel really personal and special. And despite its size, this tiny wedding felt really grand, with a setting of giant Redwoods, all the separate pieces of a traditional Jewish ceremony, and music by a three-piece klezmer band! It was such a privilege to be a part of it.
Charlotte and Paul found me just a few weeks before their wedding and I just happened to have their date free. I’m so glad I did, because this wedding was so beautiful and heartfelt - I was so glad to be a part of their very special day. From their intimate morning ceremony amidst the quiet of the giant redwoods in Hoyt Arboretum, to the post-ceremony brunch in the wedding meadow, to their lively, fun backyard reception, every part of the day was warm and thoughtful. . .
There's something so special about a very intimate wedding. Kat and Kealan traveled all the way from Philly to have a very tiny wedding ceremony here in beautiful Portland, Oregon, and it felt really special to be a part of it. It was just the bride and groom, the lovely Maureen Haley officiating, and me and my assistant . . .
I had such fun with Serena and her family at the Hoyt Arboretum last weekend. Portland treated us to a dry, sunny winter day, and we took full advantage of it. It seems like only yesterday I was photographing her mom and dad’s wedding, then their maternity session and her newborn photos… I can’t believe she’s already a year old! Kids are a great reminder of how time flies, and I love when I get to see them for photos along the way.
