I was surprised to hear that Kaanchan and Alex had found a beautiful winery for their wedding venue that was right here in the west hills of Portland. Amaterra is a stunning backdrop for couples seeking a classic, elegant winery wedding celebration, and it is SO close and SO convenient. I love hearing about and shooting at great new venues . . .
I love Mt. Tabor in the springtime. The winding trails meandering through the lush greenery create a natural, romantic ambiance. As an added bonus, it has some special family history for Lacey - it’s where her parents got engaged. So I was delighted to meet up there with these two for a golden hour engagement session a couple of weeks ago. I love all of the great textures and how the late-day sunlight filters through the trees and gives everything a lovely, warm glow. . .
I think this is the first time in my career as a wedding photographer that I’ve photographed two weddings in a row at the same venue! What a lovely coincidence. I love the lush greenery and soft cafe lights at the Blockhouse at Pomarius Nursery in industriual Northwest Portland. Even on a drippy December day, it has a beautiful, cozy vibe. . .
Rowena Crest never disappoints! I’ve done portrait sessions here so many times throughout the years, and it always shows me something a little special and different. Thanks to Liz and Jaron for braving the VERY windy afternoon - I can’t wait for your wedding celebration next year!
I love this early fall wedding at Summit Grove Lodge! Megan is maybe the twelfth co-worker whose wedding I photographed from my old restaurant job, and it was so nice to keep up the tradition, catch up with some old friends, and get to meet her lovely new husband and their families! I love all the personal touches, the tons of laughter and happy tears, and the beautiful setting at the Summit Grove Lodge. Add in good food, yard games, and lots of fun dancing, and you get just a fantastic wedding celebration. . .
So many truly gorgeous weddings this summer! This Artillery Barracks wedding had it all - smiling friends and family, thoughtful details, heartfelt speeches, ridiculously fun dancing - the list goes on. And of course, a beautiful bride and groom celebrating their love with the people they love. . .
Oh man, do I love it when artists ask me to photograph their weddings! Just endless thoughtful, unique, colorful details to capture! From the beautiful Mandala backdrop for their ceremony to the one-of-a-kind rings the couple made themselves (with the help of their sister-in-law’s very cool wedding ring workshop), weddings don’t get more personal than this one. The bride’s dress even had a light-up surprise for the bubble-filled dance party at the end of the night. . .
These two lovely people got married during the pandemic but waited until this summer to celebrate with their friends and family. It was a beautiful, relaxed afternoon with vegan soul food, lawn games, and LOTS of catching up, and it was a delight to celebrate with them! Congratulations, Toni + Xander!
